School History

Sinclair bears the name of a noted physician, Thomas Albert Sinclair.  Sinclair was one of the founders of Heights Hospital, and a prominent civic leader.

Sinclair Elementary opened in 1959.  Located on a beautiful campus tucked snugly in a quiet residential neighborhood on the western fringe of the Heights, you'll find Sinclair, HISD's only elementary technology-based communications magnet school.

Within Sinclair's magnet emphasis, you'll find strong science, math, technology and engineering programs which integrate project-based learning throughout the curriculum.
